Building 32 Shades

Creating a foundation shade range sounds simple on paper.

Choose a few light shades, a few medium shades, a few deep shades and you're done.

In reality it's one of the most complex challenges in beauty.

Because people aren't categories.

They're individuals.

And nowhere is that more evident than in India where skin tones and undertones exist across an incredibly diverse spectrum.

More Than Light To Deep

When most people think about foundation shades they think about depth.

  • Light.
  • Medium.
  • Deep.

But creating an inclusive shade range isn't just about how light or dark a shade is.

It's also about undertones.

Two people can have the exact same skin depth and require completely different foundation shades because one has a golden undertone while the other has an olive or neutral undertone.

That's why shade development isn't simply about creating more shades.

It's about creating the right shades.

Understanding Indian Skin

One of the biggest challenges in foundation development is that Indian skin is often oversimplified.

For years many shade ranges leaned heavily warm or orange leaving people with neutral, olive or peach undertones struggling to find a match.

The reality is that Indian skin cannot be represented by a single undertone or a handful of shades.

It deserves a spectrum.

That's why undertones became just as important as depth when building our range.

Why 32 Shades?

We chose to launch with 32 shades because we wanted to create a foundation wardrobe that reflects the diversity we see every day.

From lighter complexions to deeper skin tones.

From neutral and olive undertones to warm, golden and peach undertones.

Not every person will fit perfectly into one category but our goal was to create enough variety that more people could find a shade that genuinely feels like their own.

Shade Matching Is Personal

One of the biggest lessons we learned throughout development is that shade matching is deeply personal.

No two complexions are identical.

The perfect match isn't always the lightest or deepest option. It's the shade that disappears into your skin and looks like it belonged there all along.

The best foundation shouldn't announce itself.

It should simply feel like you.

Beyond The Numbers

At the end of the day 32 isn't just a number.

Each shade represents a person, a complexion, a story and a reminder that beauty cannot be reduced to a single standard.

Building this range wasn't about creating more options for the sake of it.

It was about creating more opportunities for people to feel represented.

Because everyone deserves to see themselves reflected in beauty.

The Journey Continues

No shade range is ever truly finished.

Beauty is constantly evolving and so are the people we create for.

Building 32 shades was not the final destination it was the beginning of a larger commitment to understanding, representing and celebrating the diversity of Indian skin.

Because beauty has never belonged to one shade.

And it never should.

Every Shade. Every Story.
